The Anatomy of Silence

Ashima Dhir Sehgal - India

The Anatomy of Silence explores how emotion and identity inhabit the spaces between expression and restraint. Through a fusion of acrylic paint and clay relief, the work transforms silence into a tactile presence. The fractured geometry recalls cubist structures, while the clay introduces an earthy vulnerability, grounding abstraction in touch and memory. A divided female face emerges from intersecting planes, symbolizing the duality between composure and inner turbulence. The work becomes both an excavation and reconstruction of self ,where silence is not absence but matter, shaped and scarred by time, thought, and emotion. By merging surface and substance, The Anatomy of Silence turns the invisible into form , revealing that even what is unspoken leaves a trace.
