Full moon

GAELLE CHAUBARON - France

"Full moon" is a mosaic created by Gaëlle CHAUBARON (signed "Kakko Atelier").

With a scientific background, Gaëlle CHAUBARON creates a bridge between an ancestral decorative art, mosaic, and the regulatory data of the current land register.

This mosaic, resolutely contemporary in its graphics and choice of materials, invites you to stroll through the historic center of Paris, on Saint-Louis Island and the banks of the Seine.

In mass-tinted Spanish glass paste, glass paste and porcelain stoneware, the tesserae (around 1,500) were cut and then glued one by one by hand. The shades of blue highlight the districts of the heart of Paris and the Seine with silvery reflections.

The joint takes a very special place. The objective is no longer simply to unify the mosaic but to make it play its own role in the final rendering: that of walking through the heart of the neighborhoods with a relief effect.

We cannot say which, the tesserae or the joint, highlights the other.

Let yourself be taken into the heart of this almost immersive map mosaic and why not get lost there... or find your own way.
