Katarzyna Wasilewska (born in 1976 in Poland) - graduated of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland, member of Association of Polish Visual Artists. She graduated in 2015 with a diploma in Painting and Drawing at the Faculty of Graphics and Painting. The studies allowed for deepening knowledge and an artistic experience and inspired her further exploration and development. She deals mainly with painting and collage. In her work, she explores the world of nature and the inner world of man.
"Beyond Words" and "Ether of Life" are the two most important painting cycles by Katarzyna Wasilewska. The paintings from the "Beyond Words" cycle are based primarily on the motifs of a mask and a chessboard. The works in this series are related to theater, acting and characterization, which are often reflected in reality and interpersonal relationships. The "Ether of Life" cycle is built using the allegory of butterfly wings. The works are intended to encourage the viewer to reflect on the sensitivity and ephemerality of our lives.
Katarzyna Wasilewska's works are in private collections in Poland and abroad. Paintings from the "Ether of Life" series are, among others, in a private collection in Los Angeles.
She took part in numerous individual and collective exhibitions.
