SUMMARY OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have more than twenty years of experience teaching Studio Art and Art History to students of all ages.
My students learn the theory and skills of drawing, painting, graphic design and visual literacy, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics based on the European art history and tradition. I encourage students' self-discovery, creativity, and most of all, hard work. EXHIBITION HISTORY
Note: Due to my everyday constant involvement with my students and working in a private, college preparatory high school, and building my educator's career in the US, I had less time to devote to invitational exhibitions and mostly showcase my works online.
However, I experiment and reearch my ideas every minute of my waking hours. My recent works include painting on Yupo paper, in variety of water media: watercolors, inks, acrylic inks, and oil. I found Yupo paper's smooth, artificial surface facinating.
Next, I experiment with a 70-year old printing technique called Lenticular Print. It is sometimes used by movie and cartoon production companies on posters in the US, but artists use it in a "retro" style. I use it to add an unussual depth to my artworks.
My motifs are mostly the combinations of theme parks, street fairs, fairy tale creatures, and old ships. Most of those motifs are located under water. Water as an element is my obsession, especially ocean and its great depths. My motifs are shown quietly floating, which evoke my great inner peace which I want to transfer to the viewers.
