This woodcut explores my interest in the spontaneous mark and the speed of creating a mark. The image depicts a seemingly quick, un-mannered gesture, but the creation of the mark is extremely slow and labored. Exhibiting two, near identical plates explores my interest in copies, and what we consider as authentic.
