“In Suspension” explores the liminal state between descent and ascension — the fragile moment when motion ceases and transformation quietly begins. Inspired by Victor Turner’s notion of liminality, the work investigates the tension between opposites: body and spirit, presence and erasure, clarity and dissolution. The red threads traverse the surface like living veins, binding fragments of memory to the act of becoming.
The central figure hovers in a metaphysical pause — neither falling nor rising — embodying Heidegger’s concept of Dasein, the awareness of one’s own unfolding. Through layers of abstraction and symbolic gesture, In Suspension reflects the human condition as a perpetual threshold, where stillness itself becomes movement and uncertainty becomes truth.
