Inside We Are Very Private

Elizabeth Wood - Canada

Inside We Are Very Private presents the human figure as a site of concealment, memory, and interior complexity. The portrait appears suspended between formation and disintegration, its surface fractured by layers of crystalline texture, scratches, and organic debris-like marks that obscure as much as they reveal.

The partially hidden face carries an atmosphere of quiet withdrawal. Eyes lowered or closed, the figure resists direct access, suggesting an inward psychological space protected from external scrutiny. Dark, tangled textures concentrated around the head evoke thought, memory, or emotional accumulation — as though the interior life of the subject is surfacing through the image itself
