Sense, Sanity, Splitting

Bonnie Keren He - United States of America

Sense, Sanity, Splitting examines the psychological isolation of adolescence and the ways prolonged loneliness can fracture emotional identity. Through fluid distortions and contrasting expressions of softness and instability, the figure exists between two responses to suffering: the pursuit of inner peace and the emergence of revengeful emotional unrest. Luminous tones suggest vulnerability and introspection, while the fragmented forms evoke the instability that develops when isolation becomes internalized. The work reflects adolescence as a period of psychological division, temper and alienation where the search for identity, connection, and acceptance can blur the boundary between composure and emotional survival.
