Mann

Geboren in: Port St Johns (South Africa) am 27 März 1961.

Derzeit wohnhaft in: East London (South Africa).

Aktivität: Fotografie;

Professional graphic designer, freelance photographer and Design editor

Bazil was schooled in the dark arts of photolithography, graphic design, illustration and photography before conscripted into the South African National Defence force with promises of adventure - they lied and I had signed the bottom line.

Bazil left disillusioned, with shrapnel in his one leg and learnt the skill of jumping out of perfectly serviceable aircraft with his equipment strapped to his leg, this was when he found out duct tape is the 'WINDEX' of photography.

Bazil still suffers nightmares about delivering the physically impossible after 12 years in the local newspaper industry, occasionally under the whip of the seemingly insane, and always on behalf of the terminally unappreciative, finally left newspapers after the ultimate betrayal of colleague who wanted a job in a bigger centre and was very good with knives once his back was turned.

Bazil is a fine artist, photographer, writer and photo educator…depending on which day you catch him – where, like any good modern day guru, he thinks way too much, constantly reinvents himself and pontificates on one of his blogs.

He loves tinted his images with coffee and herbal tea, houselhold PVA and has been known to iron his images with a household iron.

He uses use Mac, Nikon, Mamiya, Leica and is an lifelong Adobe fan.
