As a process-oriented artist, my approach to creating a work of art resembles a spontaneous and intimate dance involving creation, destruction and, finally, resurrection, before attaining completion. Working principally on wood, I enjoy creating multiple semi-transparent layers using mixed media; primarily tissue paper, acrylic paint, and varnish. More recently I have begun exploring scanography which accentuates the sense of intimacy in my work, as well as digital composing that brings an immediacy to my process that I find very satisfying.  

My work invites the viewer to come a little closer, to explore the symbols and details within, and to perhaps ask themselves questions pertaining to self-identity and personal roots. It is my core belief that underneath all our outer trappings we are all essentially alike, asking ourselves the same questions, and hoping for the same answers. At the very least, I hope my work allows viewers to feel they are not alone on their journey.
