Lines on White and Violet

Lines on White and Violet – the background for this painting is two colors: white and violet. The white color highlights and paints an abstract shape at the top of the painting, suggesting the slow process of paint flowing downward under the influence of gravity. It's painted on a violet background. The background is a very smooth, spray-painted surface. The red lines, painted with texture, represent a different, faster movement, and are abstract and conceptual. For me, at one point while painting this painting, it was a red rose, and I even titled it that for a while.
