Identity is an abstract work through which I explore the self as a fluid and continuously shifting system of perspectives. I created this painting during a period of introspection, when I was discovering my inner self from multiple angles and embracing both its vibrancy and the depth found within its darker layers. For me, identity is not a fixed state but an ongoing process of exploration and revelation.
My background in dance strongly informs this work. Each gesture on the canvas emerges from physical movement — a reach, a spiral, a pause — turning the painting into a space of embodied inquiry. The marks act like choreographic traces, capturing motion, intuition, and emotion as they unfold across the surface.
Color is central to this process. Intense, luminous tones coexist with deeper, shadowed areas, creating visual tension that mirrors the coexistence of clarity and obscurity within personal evolution. These contrasts reflect my belief that the essence of the self remains alive and expressive, even when navigating hidden or complex dimensions.
With Identity, I invite viewers to engage with their own shifting internal landscapes and to recognize the vibrant multiplicity that shapes the contemporary human experience.
