This work is a reinterpretation of an inherited culture, incorporating elements of traditional Teochew Opera from Chaozhou, Guangdong, alongside the revered figure of Guanyin—a symbol of faith in traditional culture. By displacing these traditional motifs into an unconventional space and presenting them through an unexpected, non-traditional form, I construct a space that invites viewers to interrogate a region’s civilization from a new perspective, provoking new discourse.
