Every day is filled with new textures, emotions and fragrances, which to me all have a different voice. This is why I love to combine different media and techniques.  I mainly work with oil glazes and ink, but then I add what my heart desires to bring each piece to a place where it sings to me. 

My work explores the fragile dance between the mundane and those gossamer layers of deep experience that so intimately holds our light. These to me are eternal questions: What makes authentically ‘being’ so rich and what makes our light so fragile?

With influences as diverse as Chagal and the fragrance of wet soil, by engaging in both earthy and transcendent relationship with the world and people around me, I constantly discover new textures to be inspired by, ponder, peel away and weave into fresh expression.

The mercurial yet perpetual nature of the human condition never ceases to fascinate me  – like the inevitability of isolation, especially within groups…the real and imagined subtexts that hold it and that are held by it in return.

As the viewer engages with my work, what may be at first a one-dimensional impression soon yields to a sense of connection with the piece’s duende.  This is when the real journey toward a dynamic synthesis begins. As transitory forms and emotions become reconfigured through experimental and free practice, the viewer is left with a reflection of his or her own nature.
