Ah, environmental protection, energy conservation, and the scourge of waste!

Everyone (or almost everyone, alas) talks about it, yet few people—and few nations—actually take action.

We continue to consume the Earth's resources at a rate unprecedented in human history. Some countries are virtuous; others, less so.

We are heading toward our own undoing.

This is what the artist sought to demonstrate with this piece: to symbolically visualize the volume that just a few scattered drops can occupy. The universal waste of water, illustrated through a modest work of art!

The olive wood—specifically a stump where the natural imperfections have been deliberately preserved—seems to suggest that nothing is ever perfect.
