Deep Breath is a work expressing the unceasing life power and
rhythm of nature that continues for a long time, as changes in and an interaction
with particles that form the screen. The change and rhythm of nature, with its
lack of artificiality, give us rest. Creating a flow through interaction while
freely swimming on the screen, the particles unravel the sense of change and
rhythm established within our inner world. In particular, by taking the
beautiful light and movement of plankton as subject matter, the work expresses
the image of a living sea that responds to the huge change of global warming. There
are research results stating that plankton alleviates the increase of carbon
dioxide by changing their metabolism and producing more organic carbons even when
seawater warms. The image of the earth, silently recirculating and purifying
itself, evokes the image of a catching one’s breath in a deep breath.
