The Fire We Carry - Apart

Apart explores the emotional distance that can exist even in the presence of others. An elongated figure stands alone against a heavily textured field of ochre, burnt red and charcoal. The figure is deliberately faceless, allowing identity to recede and emotional experience to take its place.

The surrounding surface is built through layers of acrylic and modelling paste, creating a landscape that feels both physical and psychological. The figure occupies the space without fully belonging to it, a reflection on separation, displacement and the quiet experience of standing apart.
