Abigail O'Brien

O’ Brien graduated with an MA Fine Art Painting in 1998, from The National College of Art and Design, Dublin.

She has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and Europe at venues including the Royal Hibernian Gallery, Dublin; Lapua Museum of Art, Lapua Finland. Galerie Bugdahn und Kaimer, Düsseldorf;   Centre Culture Irlandais, Paris; and Haus der Kunst, Munich, Germany.

Group exhibitions include,  Another Island, Contemporary Irish Art, The American Historical Society, New York;  EV+A, Limerick; Stories, Haus der kunst, Munich and The Eye of the Storm at the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

Her work is in many noted collections including Irish Museum of Modern Art, the National Self-Portrait Collection, University of Limerick; The Caldic Collection, Rotterdam, Denmark, The European Central Bank, Frankfurt, Germany and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Vienna, Austria. Also Private Collections in Europe and the US.

O'Brien has won many awards for her work and has been supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Culture Ireland.
