Clement Mohale (b. 1994) is a South African contemporary artist born in Bela-Bela, Limpopo. He has been passionate about art since childhood and had the honor of being mentored by the late Ernest Ditshego at The African Art Center, where he learned and developed the foundational skills and techniques of the art discipline. In 2007, he won the Manager’s Choice Award in the Cashbuild Art At HeArt Community Competition. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and special projects, including his 2020 solo exhibition The Creative Adult is the One Who Survived at NWU Gallery, North-West University, and the 2021 group exhibition Shattered Ceilings presented by The Pencil Club. Mohale was a finalist for The Lockdown Collection Portfolio in 2020 with Artist Proof Studio in conjunction with the University of Johannesburg. He was also a 2020 finalist for The Green Recovery Portfolio project for climate change, in partnership with Artist Proof Studio and the Canada Climate Law Initiative. In 2021, he obtained a Certificate in Contemporary Art Practice from the CAP Institute under the mentorship of Prof. Elfriede Dreyer and also received a certificate of completion in Printmaking from Artist Proof Studio in Houghton, Johannesburg. Clement’s work has garnered recognition and appreciation on an international scale, with collections in the U.S., Switzerland, Germany, France, England, the UK, and beyond
