Introduction
For over thirty years, my intimate circle has called me "K".
Gisele, my Grandmother who was passionate about the Egypt she had visited, explained to me that in ancient Egypt, the "Ka" symbolized the soul. More precisely, that he represented the vital energy, the life force, the spiritual double of the person.
The works of an artist are the reflection of his soul, his emotions ... It has therefore naturally become the signature of my creations!
At the beginning, I signed "Ka" but over time, this signature has become a "K" (the pronunciation remains the same, the symbol does not change) with a slightly starry shape, a sign that my lucky star is accompanying me and inspires me in my work.
My creations are my “Ka”, they are part of my being, and I vibrate for them and through them. They are my strength, my source of joy and balance.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Who am I ?
I am a self-taught artist with a very fertile imagination who had a paternal Grandmother, Gisèle, very gifted with her hands, who painted, sewed, decorated, customized. She knew how to do everything, she transmitted her passions and her taste for beauty to me.
I drew before I even knew how to write, and I sketched everything that came into my eyes. Sometimes even to train myself, I reproduced images or photos: men, animals, plants, landscapes, comic book heroes ...
Thanks to my Dad, I lived in Africa and Europe for part of my childhood and my adolescence, these trips changed my personality forever ...
I absorbed all the cultures and the different forms of art that I encountered: both in the forms, as well as in colors, and sometimes unusual supports.
I brought back from my wanderings the strength of movement, the power of colors and light. Therefore, I am particularly sensitive to the Raw and Primitive Arts.
In 1984, back for the holidays in France, Gisèle, still her, took me to an exhibition of Pablo Picasso at the Center Pompidou, in Paris. It was a real revelation!
Since then, fascinated by Contemporary Art which corresponds to my search for the unusual, the unexpected, always hidden where one would not expect it, sharing the intimate emotions of an artist with many force, I plunged into him.
Exploring many areas: drawings, paintings, collages, sculptures, driftwood.
Trying myself to all materials: oil, acrylic, natural pigments, greasy chalk, watercolor, charcoal, ink ...
Using all the media within easy reach, not preventing me from any material: canvas, paper, wood, glass, plastic, cardboard, papier-mâché ...
Using different materials: brushes, knives, fingers ...
Nothing can stop my thirst for creation and expression!
Today, I paint mainly in acrylics. Whether raw or in mixed technique (mixed with cardboard, fabrics, shells, collages, sand, wood, natural pigments ...)
According to my inspiration and my dreams. And there are many!
My favorite colors are red, gold, black and white, colors of my family crest, whose name and values I proudly wear.
In my artistic career, I was also an independent gallery owner in the Var from 2008 to 2010, supporting emerging artists. My ambition was clearly displayed: that of making Contemporary Art accessible to all collectors.
Established in Nantes (France) for four years, I work on my works in my studio while continuing to travel around the world, always a source of inspiration.
My ambition is to live fully from my art and to share it, because it knows no borders through its influences. So I naturally took the plunge by successfully applying for national and international art competitions.
The phrase that best sums me up is the slogan I created in 2008 for my art gallery:
"Art is Alive, it is Current ... In a word: Contemporary! ".
