Susanne Wawra (b. 1980, Germany) is the current artist in residence at Talbot Studios, Dublin. Susanne completed a Master’s Degree in English and Communication & Media at the University of Leipzig, Germany and moved to Dublin in 2007. After an exploration of business, she decided to swap a secure career for life as an artist.
Susanne graduated in Painting at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and won the Talbot Gallery and Studios Most Promising Graduate Award 2016. Further, she received a Highly Commended in the Visual Arts category the global Undergraduate Awards (2016) and has been listed in the Visual Arts category of ‘People to Watch in 2017’ in The Irish Times.
Her work has been shown at Miami New Media Festival (2016), Pérez Art Museum Miami, USA; OSTRALE (2015), Dresden, Germany; BIDEODROMO (2015), BilbaoArte, Bilbao, Spain and Pop Maskulinity (2014), Gayfield, Edinburgh, Scotland.
