Forgotten Girl

Alexandra Nemeth - Hungary

Forgotten Girl explores the silent weight of childhood trauma and the memories we learn to bury in order to survive.
The child is illuminated only by a cold artificial light, symbolizing the emotional distance between innocence and safety. Her expression reflects the quiet fear, hypervigilance, and loneliness that often remain unseen by the outside world.

Many of the wounds carried into adulthood are born in moments that seemed invisible, insignificant, or forgotten. Yet these experiences shape personality, relationships, self-worth, and the way we move through life long after childhood has passed.

This work is not only about pain, but about the hidden inner child that continues to exist within many adults unheard, unresolved, and waiting to be acknowledged.
