Barbara Oettinger holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chile and an MFA in Integrated Practices from Pratt Institute, New York, funded by Becas Chile/CONICYT. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Creative and Critical Practice at the University of Sussex, supported by an ANID scholarship. Her filmmaking explores themes of migration, displacement, and identity, documenting communities in transit and highlighting their struggles with territory, social boundaries, and the nation-state. Through non-fiction, she weaves personal testimonies with visual imagery to craft reflective narratives that challenge prevailing myths and historical narratives. Barbara has exhibited her work in cultural centers, galleries, and museums across Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
