Lay

The series Lay was born after a residency in Iceland, during which I studied the form and behavior of some oceanic algae capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions due to their flexibility and adaptability. I reinterpreted them and made them my own by reinventing a plaster matrix onto which I poured molten lead, a material equally adaptable but with its own 'weight' and significance, with the intention of evoking how sometimes heroism lies not only in resistance but also in the ability to bend and accept the currents.

The artwork comes in various sizes, depending on the space it occupies.
