The Miracle of Kodak.

Remembering how this picture was written, long-forgotten images of Cossacks appear in my memories, and at the same time, I was inspired by a magical night on Ivan Kupala.
For Ukrainians in the past, this night was the most amazing in the summer, people lit bonfires, danced, there were various entertainments for young people. According to folk traditions, girls and boys passed tests in pairs or individually. The girls wove wreaths of flowers and decorated their hair, sang songs, and called for good luck. Husbands had their own fun, but there was something that could be done as a couple. They held hands and jumped over the fire. If the couple could not stand it and separated their hands, then they should not be together and vice versa.
In our region, it was believed that only on this night a fern flower blooms and the one who finds it will become an extraordinary person, all wishes will be fulfilled...
When I went to the places where the Kodak fortress was captured by the Cossacks a long time ago on the threshold of the mighty Dnieper, this topic inspired me to create
dialogue of the artist with the locality.
Nothing has remained of the fortress for a long time, but the Cossacks can tell you their characteristic stories.
When I got home, I was thinking and very inspired...soon this picture was created. Sometimes I think that looking at her I understand everything. Perhaps your imagination will tell you exactly what happened on that strange night on Ivan Kupala in the Cossack area.
