Aloïs

I am a French-German painter, born in 2006, studying and working between Paris, Venice and Pau. I am pursuing a dual degree at Sciences Po Paris and in Fine Arts at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, which I began after specializing in visual arts at an art high school in Germany.

My art centres on the body and introspection. Sleep, rest and intimacy become threshold states: the precision of the observed line meets the abandon of the gesture, and the landscapes surrounding the figure dissolve into pure colour. As the work progresses, I let the background respond to the body, in a constant tension between rigour and letting go.

My art is defined by an exploration of the body as a place of passage between intimacy and dissolution. "Aloïs" (2025), was made after a live model, from whom I draw a precise rendering of the body. My method then becomes freer: thick paint, drips and flat areas of pure colour that let the subject's surroundings tip into abstraction
