I was fortunate enough to support tiger conservation through safari in Bandhavgarh National Park in India. While others may not get the chance to witness these beautiful yet endangered big cats, I wanted to visually recreate the sighting, to elicit a response in taking action to protect this magnificent species. When painting wildlife, I use non-traditional color selection to attract attention, purposely avoiding a photorealistic approach, yet I couldn’t help but employ realistic color selection in this piece, with the exception of the purple stripes.
