Passionate about art, Bimla is always creating, weaving and block printing. Bimla’s woven pieces of art have been published in an art book Paramparik Karigar . Under the label B, Bimla’s scarves,stoles and fabric have been exhibited and sold at the prestigious boutique Khazana in the Taj Hotels (India) and other renowned boutiques such as Milange, Studio Saks. She has also supplied to local stores such as Westside, Globus. She has exhibited several printed pieces of dhurries, lamp shades, cushion covers etc. for Om Creations at Contemporary Arts and Crafts. For the last two years Bimla’s silks have been exhibited and sold at the IMC (Indian Merchant Chamber) held annually. Bimla is passionate about sharing her knowledge. She volunteers her skills to empower mentally challenged young women at Om Creations, a non-profit organization in Mumbai. Here she helps from designing to fabricating to encourage the women to be self employed. She also teaches a simple form of weaving for making tissue box covers, mats etc. Currently, Bimla is focussed on exhibiting her work internationally and is working on a collection of woven art pieces for Italy and for the upcoming IMC (Indian Merchant Chamber) exhibit.
