Cetty Previtera was born in Switzerland in 1976, but finds her roots in Sicily. She grew up in  the Sicilian town of Zafferana Etnea, and indeed still lives there today.

After graduating in psycho-social science at the Università degli Studi di Catania, she took time to learn the study of oil painting, using self taught techniques initially.

She supplemented this by attending the studios of local painters, and then went on to attend regular painting tuition at the Academy of Art and Restoration Abadir in S.Agata li Battiati (Ct), under the instruction of  the artists Giuseppe Puglisi and Piero Zuccaro.

Her painting style is characterized by a strong sense of colour and enjoys a playful transformation of reality.
