Elena Tejada-Herrera works with experimental art-forms. Elena is very interested in challenging traditional conceptions of gender. She has been working creating multimedia interactive installations dealing with sexual issues from a woman´s perspective. Elena is interested in the way women are using media art and platforms to create contemporary discourses, and their influence in the way we experience and practice politics within our every day lives.

Elena has incorporated in her art the use of telephone lines, Internet, vlogging, etc. She uses techniques from different disciplines, and forms of affective and behavior relations. Her work seeks to facilitate cultural exchanges, individual´s empowerment, and to instigate social change. She is very interested in the performative entity of the public. Elena likes to engage in the production of social practices and collective forms of expression. In Peru she introduced irruptive risky performances to protest against Fujimori's dictatorship. Elena lives between Perú and the United States.
