I was born and raised in a small town in the North of Italy; I always wanted to travel the World and, at the age of 21, I left, and lived two years in the B.V.I.'s, an Autumn in Massachusetts and few months in Zimbabwe; in 1996, I got married and lived and travelled with my husband in the United Kingdom, West Indies, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Estonia and Greece. I always liked drawing, but my artistic path formally began in year 2000, when I started painting. I dedicated my first series of works (called "blugiallorosso") to three colors, and I assigned to each one of them a symbolic meaning: blue = the masculine, red = the femminine, yellow = the divine; belonging to this series are groups of works - like "Free Will" and "Omnia Vincit Amor" - that investigate and celebrate Love at any cost and no matter what. Self-taught and eclectic, I then started adding objects to my canvases and the style became tridimensional. Most of my works are, now, either in the shape of small standing installations, or in the form of the so called "Game Of The Fifteen" (also known as Mystic Square); however, in sharp contrast with the playful appearance, the new series of works, which is called "The Way I See It", deals with the inevitably cruel world of high finance; in fact, the lowest common denominator of this latest production is the use of toys and financial newspapers and such a seemingly bizarre and inappropriate pairing wants to evocate and highlight the even more bizarre and even more inappropriate (yet, sadly true) way of saying: "play the stock market". The medium that I now prefer is collage&assemblage, because the mixed media technique allows a vast variety of daring combinations that perfectly suit to my desire to express, represent and share my own view of our global society, and PLAY with ideas, never forgetting that Hope is the answer, because, also in this context, Love will eventually conquer it all!
