Monica was born in Malaga, Spain. As a shy child she used to use her drawings to express her feelings. As she grew older she was inspired by her hometown artists Pablo Picasso, and when she started to use charcoal she fell in love with medium as a way to create her abstract expressionist pieces. Monica was further inspired by her travels and her meditation practices which led her to view art as a form of therapy. After moving to Da Nang, and travelling around Vietnam, Monica found herself being creatively motivated by the countries people and sights, she created a small series entitled ‘Inspired in Vietnam’. She has been creating art here in Da Nang since then, is studying to be an art therapy coach and she volunteer teaches art at local orphanages.
