Everyone throws some art around growing up but like a lot of other things we fall out of some of the things that best define us for who we are. I kept a hold on art thankfully throughout high school focusing more on pencil and ink line work for animation dreams. My family worked a lot in animation and growing up in a small country town on the edge of the Mojave desert, art didn't make it's way through our town to frequently. I ventured out eventually and broke my fear of applying color and began painting after wandering around streets and alleys of L.A., it's was then, to me, inevitable. I began painting with spray paints and acrylics later moving onto oils. To satisfy my folks I began working on a fall back plan learning how to weld many different types of metals for many different purposes. This came about with them threatening to kick me out of the house if I pursued art as a main career so I painted when they went to sleep and stayed up usually until the sun came up in the morning. My bosses at my first welding job told me to quit painting too but I told them where to go. I took my job and ultimately all my work very seriously so I held onto both. I was laid off 3 weeks before I officially moved to Brooklyn NY. I chose to move to see what NY would do to my art work, with my welding certification I began making artisan furniture and interior facades with my experience after I dedicated a year to my art in a small shed in our back yard in Bushwick Brooklyn in 2009-2010. I blessing in disguise my welding experience became that I started to create my own frames for my art work. I didn't trust that frame shops would be able to coordinate the same feeling in the frames as my art work conveyed. I had 5 shows where the last show I tried to incorporate the importance of other arts that heavily influenced my creative drive and invited a few musicians, photographers and art interns to be a part of this great world. I moved back shortly after Hurricane Sandy almost consummed my work in Far Rockaway Queens. I can't believe life's beauty sometimes and and spontaneous offerings and with any way I can I hope to contribute to the beauty that the world might forget to notice and contribute even more to the beauty that the world does notice.  Thank you artists or all sorts especially the ones where art is edible.
