background info:

The artwork came into being shortly before Russia overran Ukraine. The video installation "24/7" addresses the issue of "white washing" of militarism and arms companies in terms of transparency in the use of weapons and their consequences. The fundamental question here is not whether or not the production and consequently also the use of weapons is reasonable or morally justifiable, but rather the phenomenon of secrecy and confidentiality is highlighted. Perhaps there is no other industrial sector that discloses so little information about the sale of its products as the arms industry. This means that very little information is known about the destruction and its consequences.

concept:

"24/7" follows the approach of changing perspectives. The weapon is not portrayed as an object, but rather the empty weapon case is at the centre. There is an empty space where a machine gun originally lay, reminiscent at first of a light table. The foam cut-out of the weapon sets a spatial boundary, the interior of the case becomes a stage.

The viewer sees blood penetrating the case from all sides. There is a group of people constantly trying to clean the surface, more and more "personnel" are needed to clean the floor. The lighting goes out at the end of the animation and the animation starts again. "24/7" never ends, the work is designed as a loop.
