Shapes in magnesium white hold still the edge of day

Captured from the rooftop of Skolen ved Dybbølsbro in early June, this black-and-white sunset evokes the brilliant white of childhood fireworks and the metallic memories of magnesium light.

Inspired by the Strawberry Moon occuring here in Copenhagen on June 10th and Nick Cave’s “Cinnamon Horses,” the image bridges sky and song, memory and matter. 

It also marks the artist’s return to music, after a decade-long silence, through the analogue warmth of a tube-based audio processing and recording setup.
