Günay completed her undergraduate education in Anadolu University Faculty of Education Painting Department, and her master's degree in Social Sciences Institute of Abant İzzet Baysal University on Postmodernist Trends in Art After 1960. Günay completed her Proficiency in Art / Ph.D in 2009 and during her doctoral education, she continued her Proficiency in Art thesis for one year within the Erasmus Program of Newcastle Upon Tyne University. Günay, who has been working as a doctor in Abant İzzet Baysal University Education Faculty Painting Department until the 2015-2016 academic year, has been working as a lecturer in Duzce University Art Design and Architecture Faculty Painting Department since 2018. Having received the title of Associate Professor in 2019, Gunay has an achievement award from the State Painting and Sculpture competition, an International young artists award, and seven solo exhibitions, three international and four national. Gunay gives lectures on contemporary art, printing arts, painting workshops and art history.
