Born on 6th January, 1978, Kajal Karmakar  belongs to a middile class Indian origin  [Kolkata].  Being weak and sick at age of infant he was neglected from affection and love . But his mother  Sova karmakar had a great role in his life .  Primarily at  the age of four or five he had started drawing  many  things on the floor, on the surface of wooden doors, on the windows and others places with his own desire. The ongoing   process was formed to draw paintings  behind  the calendars. Due to the financial crisis in the family, he could not able to get any opportunity to learn professional painting with an actual process.

By the chance of his inclination for creation he got an opportunity to compete in a “sit and draw “competition which was going to be held in his locality and he become eager to enlist his name in that competition but an objection came from his father. The very next day very early morning by stealing RS 5 \- from his house he joined in that competition and he got second place there. Mean while he had been inspired by great painters like M.F Husain, Pablo Picasso, and so on .Though his learning of painting started under a local teacher. Besides doing studies he continued his paintings. Unfortunately his father opinion stood as a hindrance when he was proposed to join in an art college. After leaving his school studies, he was bound to join in their traditional work “Engraving”. He had become a very skill full blacksmith only the age of 16 .His father’s  sudden death turned his life in to a load as he was the only earner in the family for survival. Starting with extreme struggle for livelihood he carried on his painting as profession to take care of the family.

But a daramatic change came in his life when he was 27 years old a fulltimer as a painter. It is a matter of fact that being a self -taught painter he arranged every  thing related to painting what-ever an art collage proviedes the students. He experienced about sketch, still life ,life study, pencil study etc.

In the year 2008 Kajal got a high acclamation as his one painting was selected for the” All India Academy of fine arts” also he involved him-self in some group exhibitions by  that  time he was also awarded from the “Indian society of oriental art” 2010 and 2011 . After that he got the opportunity from Spain to exhibit his paintings regarding “Picasso and free thinking “in year 2011. Presently he has been preparing him-self for solo exhibitions in country and abroad.

To establish his art, he is fighting and is involved him-self in a hard work. Art is his only passion in his life. Still now he is over coming all hardens in his life through the aesthetic experience. He strongly believes “to love, to respect, and give service to every human is the most necessary activities through which One can have the Almighty .

A great speech of Nobel Laurite Rabindranath Tagore inspires his life; where the mind is without fear and head is held high

Kajal him-self does not nurture himself as a painter for rare excellence. Yet his brush will be never ending with his innovations of true aesthetic sense………………
