NEIL BADENHORST (b. 1995) is an artist and illustrator based in Pretoria. Badenhorst’s practice is largely concerned with concepts such as liminality, multilayered spaces and experiences, queer experience, the romanticism of the mundane and ritual process. These themes are explored within illustrated collaged dreamscapes, in which characters are swallowed up in the ever-expanding worlds Badenhorst maps out. He is currently studying towards a Masters in Illustration, exploring crisis heterotopias and ritual space within illustrated fantasy worlds and narratives.
