Memories of Joy

Summer 2022 -  the rumors of a nuclear bombing filled Ukraine. People tried to make fun of these rumors - many songs appeared about Shchekovitsa - a mountain in Kyiv - where on the day of the nuclear bombing people would gather and spend this day in joy, enjoying each other.

And also a desperate longing for past peaceful days, joy and fun, which were just last summer and are destroyed now.

 

All these impressions poured out onto the canvas as the painting “Memory of Joy.” The work is painted in yellow-gold colors - it could be a dazzling summer or a dazzling nuclear explosion.

 

4 human figures are made with gold leaf. The figures are flat - these can be the figures of 4 friends in a dazzling light, or there can only be memories of past joy and fun.

 

The painting is made in acrylic using gold leaf. Size 40 cm x 60 cm.
