El Santo (The Saint) remains as one of Mexico's most famous luchadores of all time as well as a popular icon. I decided to play around with a portrait I found of him and use it as my inspiration. Applying my 'electric lines' I make El Santo come alive again with the use of bright color patterns instead of his renown silver mask. As a proud Mexican myself, I was very excited making this project/portrait series. I love my country and its culture and to showcase a national hero in a fresh and modern perspective was my ultimate goal.
