Must Become My Shadow

DRAWING - Ink on canvas. Drawing ink, drawn with isographs only, except for the gold ink, that was applied with a brush. The surface of the original work is altered with white material for the context (scratches etc.).

"If you are the person on the ground, looking down at yourself, than the lion is your shadow, looking forwards. "

"Must Become My Shadow" is about how you see yourself, what you see of yourself and how you think others see you - do they see the person on the floor, crawling on all four, or the shadow of a lion, you are so desperately trying to connect with. It is also about whether it is a relief or a burden, when somebody sees your shadow in a different light than you do. 

Gold ink was used so it gives a good glow to the picture, as it should be presented with a light shining on the skeleton, so the nerves are set alight to connect with the shadow (the lion).
