Bart RiverLuck was born Barthelemy Revilaque in Bytom, in the Silesia Superior, Poland. During the communist hearings he changed his last name to RiverLuck, fearing that Revilaque sounded "too Frenchy”. He was one of 15 children born to a Polish immigrant father of Revilak Tatar ancestry  and a Gypsy mother. His father was from the town of Drohobycz, Ukraine. His mother, Apolonia whose parents were born in Lithuania, was born in the anthracite coal mining town of  Wałbrzych in Silesia Inferior, Poland.
                  River Luck's father forced by communist system to hide  in Carpathian Mountains since boy was 10, he went to work in the coal mines. Initially, River Luck worked in the office of a coal mine, later in the mine itself. He worked there until he entered military service during Yugoslav Wars He earned $1 per ton of coal mined. His family was so poor that, at one time, he reportedly had to wear his sister's dress to school because he had nothing else to wear.
                       River Luck was the first member of his family to graduate from high school. As a young child, RiverLuck did not initially know how to speak english and only learned its in his teens.
