One thing that drives me to live is the inner silence and peace I get before picking up a paintbrush. The amazing fact that this happens is enough to inspire me to take my paintbrushes again and again and lose myself in my inner world of colours. My paintings can be considered as by-products of seeking my inner peace. I have no agenda with my paintings. I don't want to make other people happy, change the world or create something beautiful and good. I just want to find myself. If during my seeking there is something that I have created which appeals to others, it is a double pleasure for me.’

Damien Senyuy (also known as Damien Blue) is a visual artist and musician from Cameroon.
Damien was born in 1986 in the community of Wum in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. As a child Damien was often found in the forest making toy cars, wooden bicycles, traditional masks and instruments which he saw during cultural festivals. His first experiments with colours were using natural materials, such as soil, wood ash, cola nut juice, avocado seed juice and charcoal.
At school his artistic skills were developed through technical drawing and mechanical practicals. He represented his school and the North West region of Cameroon in a national youth festival in the domain of fine art.
ln 2005, Angu Walters, a reputed Bamenda based artist, recognized Damien’s talent and became his mentor. Damien studied under Walters for five years.
Since then he has been writing, recording and performing music, and painting in acrylics and oils.
His themes include traditional cultural imagery, pop culture, environmental concerns, unity and fantasy. Musical figures and instruments also weave throughout his paintings. He paints abstract, surrealism, realism and his works carry messages about racism, gender inequality, music and unity. He continues to be inspired by nature and the beautiful Cameroonian environment. 

Damien has sold paintings in Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan, Belgium, Canada, south Africa, Gabon, Cameroon and the U.S and has participated in a number of national and international exhibitions including:

· IMMAGINE&POESIA (IMAGE&POETRY), an international artistic literary movement, founded at Alfa Teatro in Torino, Italy, in 2007.

· In November 2015, Damien was the events director of the Cameroon edition of The Underground Film Festival.

· Is part of an ongoing project – “Perspectiva” - in Portugal and Spain
