My name is Son Eun-Jung and I am an artist. My main theme is to express my love for as well as the limits of technology. With my academic background in computer and industrial science, I had built a solid career in the IT field, working for the renowned global IT company, Cisco Systems, at their Korean Division, Asian Division, as well as their San Hose Headquarters. Since 2010, I have changed my career path and entered the world of flower art. My work largely focuses on integrating ’live flowers’ with the technological world connected by the Internet, through which I explore critical human values such as relationships and communication. I founded the design company and atelier, Sooda* F.A.T(Flower, Art and Technology), and have been regularly collaborating with various exhibition groups and technology companies.
Pace Art+Technology showcases projects that align well with my artistry and philosophy. I would like to propose a project to Pace that emulates various aspects of human life by using live flowers and digital signage: a video of pictures falling like flower leaves. Pictures of peaceful everyday musings, of wars and disasters, and of protests and resistance. I would like to present though flowers, digital technologies and sensing technologies, an exhibition that inspires all four of our senses: the visual, the auditory, the olfactory, and the tactile. (Project title: Flowers, Trapped in the Digital and Flowers, Blooming in the Digital)

FLOWER + ART + TECHNOLOGY
Flower, art and technology, at their essence, are all methods of communication and love amongst people, nature, and the wider world.
“Soo“ means ’hands’ in Chinese; “da“ means many; Sooda is an atelier of many hands, and many talents.
