I am an all round visual artist based in the west of ireland, in the heart of the countryside. I am hugely inspired by nature and light and how I as an artist can connect with it and emmerse myself in it. I approach my painting process in the same way. Influenced by old world masters who dealt with religious themes and subjects I have always held an intrique with the mastery of Leonardo Da vinci and later have become influenced by Eduoard Manet, Van Gogh and Albrecht Durer. I deal with themes of the sublime  and seek to create that sense of awe in my own work. I want to create an ethereal quality in all of my work, to recreate the shared spiritual experience that art in its making is. As talked about by Wassily Kandinsky I want to create the spiritual experience of art as I make it and shared that experience with my audience. I have suaght inspiration from performance artist Bill Viola who shares a similar work ethic in compiling his Video installations to create and recreate a shared experience of spirtual nature.  Keeping this in mind I have become more and more Inspired by my time at the Lourdes Sanctuaries both this year and last I wanted to capture the essence of Pilgrimage, the unspoken Spark the ignites with every Candle of intention and hope, I want to search and follow and find my way through the paint and the page and share that with my audience pn this our 'Pilgrim way'
