Valerie MacGregor-Rempel is a Canadian Photographer/Artist whose work can be found in Magazines, newsprint and on the walls of Art Galleries. As was the case with her contributions to the "Cancer Connection Exhibit" which toured Canada for two years.

As a member of Toronto photo collective, Photosensitive, Rempel's work has dealt, in glorious black and white, with a variety of unique social issues. Something that has prepared her for her recent two photo safari's to Haiti.

Valerie is a strong advocate for children and women's issues and her work portrays her compassion and love toward the human spirit  Valerie's images display her keen insight and empathy towards her subjects. Valerie finds great comfort in her photographs, proves that  " a picture is worth a thousand words". Her photography is a work of art.

So in Valerie is a photographer who understands the when. That imagined but exact moment that is the epicentre of a photograph. The moment Ansel Adams once said, " A photograph is usually looked at-seldom look into." Rempel's work has to be looked into.

Whether capturing the simple beauty of a women's back or those moments of perfect normalcy;normal people doing thing....her lens and more importantly, her photographs capture the cracks that outline the true story.
