The Beauty of Imperfection, #002, Jersey City, NJ. 2026.

“Art of Imperfection” is well know as “Wabi-Sabi” in my born country, JAPAN. “Wabi-Sabi” is an acceptance of a simple life as “Beauty” in JAPAN. 

I was born and educated in the northern part of JAPAN, Sapporo, Hokkaido. I decided to move in Washington, D.C, 1990 to educate and improve myself as a not only photographer but also person. Occasionally, I've visited National Gallery of Art at the Smithsonian and seeing an exhibition of an American legendary photographer, Paul Strand at the time I was in D.C. Since then, I have been interest in taking Abstract Photographs.

“THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION” seems to be the conclusion of my both Photographic and Artistic journey. These images show, not only the beauty of Japanese traditional aesthetics of transience and imperfection “Wabi-Sabi”, but also how much I have been influenced by Paul Strand's Photographs.
