During my formative years, my family traveled frequently due to my parent’s occupation. This led me to develop a keen interest in visiting foreign countries and exploring other cultures throughout my life.  I began the first seven years of my life in Canada, where I was born in 1992. The following ten years were spent in Chile where most of my early interest in painting and drawing were cultivated. I distinctly remember the long drives my parents would regularly make from Copiapo to Santiago. Each and every time we traveled as children, I recall the complaints over seating assignments and the boredom of the drive that my brother and sister would plague my parent’s with, needing toys and games to keep them entertained, as children often do. However, for me, these drives were key times where my creativity could blossom, taking inspiration from the arid Chilean landscapes that once a year would bloom into miles and miles of vibrant flowers with the first rainfall. My parents knew the drill – they would only need to give me paper and some pencils to spark up my creativity and leave me more than content for hours on end. Recognizing my keen interest in drawing and the artistic at this young age, and desiring to help me further realize these talents, my mother signed me up for a private Chilean oil painting class at the age of nine. By the age of twelve I would create my first series of paintings, under the instruction of Ms. Fabiola. Fast forward six years, and it came to no one’s surprise that I would end up studying my Bachelors in Fine Arts at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and become further enamored with creating my own style of painting.
