To understand my artistic challenges, I would like to go back to the 80s of the last century.

As a young man full of artistic passion, I decided to design and manufacture woolen

tapestries. In my studio in Groningen (Netherlands), I learned the weaving technique. I

also started to learn the technique of dyeing sheep wool. The existing weaving frames did

not satisfy me, so I decided to design new frames according to my own idea. It took me a

lot of time and energy. After some time I got positive results. In the first half of the 80s, I

designed and made several tapestries. They were both classic and modern designs.

It was also there that I organized the first exhibition of my works. This exhibition was

received positively by the local community and the local press. In the second half of the

80s, I moved to a place near Amsterdam, where I still designed and produced new

tapestries. Then I also made my largest tapestry (200x100cm) which I called: Jesus in

Gethsemane. This tapestry from the 80s still hangs in a church in Almere near Amsterdam.

In the early 90s, I started working more commercially. I started with making industrial

design racks for small electronics, made of wood (american cherry) as well as metal. Some

projects have been registered in the Benelux modelling office in Luxemburg. I made

contacts in interior designs shops in Amsterdam, as well as in other cities in the

Netherlands. Over the years, I still have not stopped looking for new artistic methods,

something new, which is not yet known. It has always been my passion and remains so to

this day.

Somewhere from 2013 or 2015 I started to be passionate about the colours of nylon and

plastic (PVC). In our everyday life, people use products made from these materials a lot. I

decided to use these materials in my art works. My passion was to obtain controlled forms

from these materials. For my work I use strings from these materials. To get the right

forms, I use hot air and special stencils. My big challenge is to get different forms and

control this process. The time and temperature of the hot air are very important. The

beginning of the process of obtaining the right forms was very difficult. But after many

experiments, I was able to positively control this process. The results are my latest art

works. I do not know if this process is known in the modern art world.

My latest artistic works are wooden disks with a diameter of 30 to 40 cm. These disks are

painted in different colours. These disks are the background on which my art projects

made of nylon and plastic are mounted. They are glued to wooden sticks under different

angles a few centimeters from the disk surface. These figures are often finished with

pieces of amber. I also introduced semiprecious stones in 2 artworks as a new experiment.
