Stella Kukulaki was born in Rethymno, Crete. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, from Cappiello Academy (Graphic Arts and Advertising) and from the Academy of Italian Fashion (specialization: silk-screen printing). In 1987, she was awarded the Angello Badiani scholarship in engraving. She has been chosen to represent Greece at the Beijing International Art Biennale in 2010 and 2012. Since 1986, she has been in charge of the graphic design for the publications of Vikelaia Municipal Library of Heraklion, indicatively for the journal Palimpseston (volumes 1 and 2),‘Crete - History and Culture’, ‘On Painting - Alberti and Leonardo’ by M. Lambraki-Plaka,‘Cretan Painters’ by Th. Fanourakis, ‘IMBB Report Journal Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology’, ‘Literary Periplus’ by D. Plakas, ‘Address book’ with artworks by D.Theotokopoulos, ‘Cretan-Mycenaean Chronicles’by G. Sakellarakis, etc. She embarked on her career as a secondary art teacher in 1987 and has attended a lot of visual arts seminars and teacher training sessions all over Greece. She has been a member of the organizing and judging committees for the Regional Student Painting Competitions. She has served as thepresident and as a member of the judging committee deciding on student enrollments in the High School of Arts Heraklion. In 2008, she became a member of the Regional Organization of Culture and Education of Heraklion. She is also a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and Athens Art Network.
